Schibsted is now seeking an engaged Operations Centre Sysadmin / Operations Technician for a varied daytime role. ABOUT THE POSITION Vend has around 2,000 employees and is an international corporate group with digital marketplaces primarily in the Nordic region. At the Swedish office, located in excellent premises in central Stockholm, there are approximately 500 employees, with Blocket being the largest Swedish brand. The group includes several other well-known brands such as Prisjakt, Lendo, the Norwegian website FINN.no, and others. The internal IT department "Enterprise Operations", which includes the NOC, currently has global commitments for the entire Vend Group. The NOC consists of 10 helpful and supportive colleagues. RESPONSIBILITIES As an Operations Centre Sysadmin at Vend, you will work with operations and monitoring of IT systems for internal and external customers, both in Sweden and across the Nordic region. You will lead the initial phase of operational IT crisis management. As you develop further, you will also drive smaller projects for the NOC, receive, improve, and build new documentation, and define requirements for internal system owners. You will also act as 2nd line support for issues escalated from the service desk. The role is very diverse and suits those who want to work broadly and learn about many different IT disciplines, especially with tricky problem-solving, system administration, and ops-dev orientation. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO: - Has post-secondary education in IT - Has several years of experience in 2nd line support or equivalent - Has good or very good Linux skills - Has basic networking knowledge - Preferably has experience or insight into Major Incident processes - Understands system management, server or container operations, preferably in the cloud - Has very good Swedish and English skills, both verbal and written To apply for this position, Swedish citizenship is required, and you must undergo a security assessment according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). It is meritorious if you have: - Experience/understanding of web APIs such as REST or CRUD - Experience/understanding of HTTP communication - Understanding of cloud services like GCP and AWS - Experience/understanding of containerization e.g., Docker or Podman - Experience/understanding of container orchestration e.g., Docker Compose or Kubernetes We are seeking someone who enjoys working broadly in IT and has the desire to learn new things. As you will lead operational IT crisis management for a global corporation during incidents, we seek someone who is self-driven and responsible. The role involves extensive customer contact, so we look for someone who is service-oriented and can easily understand customer needs from a holistic perspective. Furthermore, we seek someone who is solution-oriented, has good problem-solving skills, and takes initiative to improve processes.
