About this role

Are You Ready for a Bigger Challenge? The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees nationwide. Here, you have the opportunity to contribute to the Police's mission – to increase safety and reduce crime in society. The Police Contact Center in Northern Region is one of seven contact centers in the country. Northern Region consists of four police districts: Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, and Jämtland. As an operator, you will receive all non-urgent cases via phone at 114 14 or polisen.se. The Police Contact Center in the Northern Region has the mission of being the first step in an efficient and quality-assured crime investigation process, focusing on crime solving and victim support. The Police Contact Center currently handles filing reports, tips, and providing information to the public. Additionally, the police contact center is a crucial part of the initial investigation process and the police's efforts to solve crimes. We work closely with other units within the authority, working near the center of events. This includes efforts such as collecting witness information for more serious crimes. The Police Contact Center is in a developing phase, where we are gaining an increasingly significant role in the authority. Our tasks are growing, and therefore we need to grow and become more numerous. We are now seeking 10 operators for summer positions located in Luleå and Boden. There may also be an opportunity for extension after the summer. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In your tasks at the Police Contact Center, the crime investigation mission is in focus, where you lay the groundwork for continued investigative work. Workload can sometimes be high, and the work may occasionally be perceived as stressful. Police officers and civilian staff work in close collaboration, in various functions such as operators, investigators, preliminary investigation leaders, operational leaders, and group managers. The operator position at the Police Contact Center in the Northern Region is divided into two shifts with some weekend service. We schedule according to a 5:3 period planning.
