We at Thorax Intensive Care Unit, TIVA, are seeking nursing students/medical students or qualified nursing assistants who want to make a real difference! Our Operations At the Thorax Intensive Care Unit (TIVA), we work with high-tech intensive care. We belong to the Department of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Diseases. The unit has 6-8 intensive care beds and a post-operative unit, TUVA. TIVA is a specialized unit that performs advanced treatment and care after planned and acute thoracic surgery. The level of intensive care can vary from ECMO or mechanical heart pump treatment to conventional intensive care after cardiopulmonary surgery. We are a large work group with close collaboration, focusing on the patient. We place great emphasis on introduction, which provides you with significant opportunities to develop your skills. It is important to us that you feel comfortable in your work. Your Assignment As a temporary nursing assistant/care assistant at Thorax Intensive Care, you will have an exciting and meaningful job. You will work in a team and experience an work environment ranging from high-tech intensive care to basic patient care. Your Qualifications You are a nursing/medical student, preferably with healthcare experience, or a qualified nursing assistant. Experience in intensive/intermediate care and interest/experience in a high-tech care environment is meritorious. We highly value personal suitability. Your Competence We seek qualities such as handling stressful situations, ability to adapt to changing pace, and good collaboration skills. We also value self-awareness and communication skills. After training, you should be able to independently manage patient-centered care for intensive care patients. We Offer Summer internship weeks 24-33, including two to three weeks of onboarding. At the beginning of the internship, we have two mandatory training days, with preliminary dates of 9/6 and 16/6. Onboarding will be with experienced nursing assistant supervisors, with clear goals, routines, and checklists for your specific tasks. Onboarding can begin in spring if possible. Onboarding length will be adjusted based on previous experience/knowledge. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. If you lack intensive care experience, we encourage you to observe for a day or a few hours to understand the care we provide. 100% employment, start date by agreement.
