Your Role We are now seeking an Area Manager for the Production of Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV) within the Saab Kockums business area. Remote Operating Vehicles (ROVs) are vessels used for scientific research, military applications, and for observation, inspection, and environmental work across underwater sectors. The production department focuses on manufacturing, assembly, testing, and quality assurance. Customer deployment and training are also part of the operations. Each step in the production chain is carefully controlled to meet defense industry requirements. In summary, the role involves maintaining, manufacturing, assembling, and ensuring product delivery and customer training. Your primary responsibilities will be to work with the area management team to ensure resources are available at the right time with the right capacity to manufacture, assemble, and deliver according to the agreed plan. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the company's production operations and business processes to continuously create better conditions for delivering to our customers' expectations. You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous development of workflows and production processes, with a focus on efficient resource utilization. The role includes long-term financial profitability responsibility and continuous monitoring to achieve set goals. In your role as Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coaching two management colleagues in different parts of production. You will be a key person in creating and driving an effective management structure, where coordination between different units and work areas is crucial to achieving the company's goals. By motivating, supporting, and developing your employees and their teams, you will ensure that the entire organization works towards common results and continuous improvement. Your Profile We are looking for someone who is flexible, proactive, and ready to take on challenges in a dynamic and changing environment. To succeed in the role, we seek someone with extensive leadership experience, preferably in an environment where you have led other managers. You have strong technical competence that helps you understand and manage complex production and business processes. At the same time, you are a skilled communicator, both internally and externally, with the ability to clearly convey goals, visions, and strategies in a way that engages and creates participation. We believe you have a technical background, preferably in production or engineering fields, but even more important are your personal qualities. You will bring an open and inclusive leadership style, actively encouraging dialogue and collaboration. Language skills in both Swedish and English are necessary to ensure clear and effective communication, helping us maintain high quality and efficiency in our processes. Travel between our business locations in Östergötland will occur, which means you need to be flexible and ready to travel to meet colleagues, partners, and customers in different locations. These travels will be a natural part of your work to ensure the entire organization works towards the same goal and that collaboration between different business areas runs smoothly. Since we work with global customers and suppliers, there may be occasions where you need to participate in meetings or visit production facilities and partners abroad. Your ability to navigate an international environment and collaborate across borders will therefore be an important part of the role.
