About this role
About Us
Västanhede is a Swedish, privately-owned group with its heart in Dalarna. The group includes around ten companies of varying sizes and industries, with passenger transportation as its core business. Today, we have approximately 600 employees in the group and are represented with offices and bus depots in Dalarna, Västmanland, Gästrikland, Uppland, Sörmland, Närke, and Stockholm. Everyone is welcome to grow and develop with us. We actively work for the equal value of all people and strive to be a workplace where both people and ideas have room to flourish. We are a group with its heart in the right place and an eye on the future.
We are now seeking an employee for one of our companies (Västanhede Trafik AB), whose vision is to be the leading actor in publicly procured public transportation in central Sweden. Our operations are based on safety, knowledge, and long experience combined with new and sustainable technology to minimize environmental impact and meet future transportation solution requirements. The company's operations are divided into two regions - North and South. We are seeking a Regional Manager North who wants to lead the operations with a focus on quality, efficient operations, and satisfied customers, where our customers are primarily traffic principals in various regions, but we naturally also want satisfied passengers.
If you are interested in a central role in our company, responsible for driving and developing our operations and assignments for traffic principals in the northern region, we welcome your application.
About the Role
As Regional Manager North, you have overall responsibility for operations in the area including Avesta, Hedemora/Säter, Heby, and Vansbro, which encompasses both bus and taxi operations. Your workplace will be in Avesta, but you are responsible for operations in the entire area. You will also share responsibility for the Fagersta-Norberg area with the Regional Manager South, which involves joint responsibility for buses.
You will lead the operations through the operations managers stationed in each location. Together, you will ensure that traffic runs according to plan and operates efficiently, that staff have the right conditions, and that operations maintain high quality, safety, and economic performance.
As regional manager, you will ensure a professional and satisfactory delivery to both customers and our own personnel.
The role includes, among other things:
• Leading, supporting, and following up on operations managers' work in the area
• Ensuring that traffic contracts and business objectives are met across the entire area
• Monitoring quality, punctuality, and delivery levels
• Responsibility, planning, and follow-up of vehicles and resources
• Close collaboration with other regional managers and central functions
• Participation in ISO work
• Driving improvement efforts and developing working methods for increased efficiency
The position is full-time and ongoing (though probationary employment may occur), with the workplace in Avesta. Travel within the area is required. You will also collaborate with other regional managers and may contribute to other regions within the business as needed. Collective agreement exists.
About You
We are seeking someone with leadership experience. Previous service in transportation or public transit is meritorious. You are a confident and present leader who enjoys leading through others. You create engagement, clarity, and structure in daily work and are easy to collaborate with.
You have good communication skills, are solution-oriented, and have a genuine interest in both people and vehicles.
Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
We Offer You
A varied job that is sometimes challenging but always meaningful! Our employees are our most important resource, which is why all employees have access to wellness benefits, we conduct team activities, and we offer free parking at our depots. With us, you become part of an inclusive and unpretentious culture where we help each other, share, and leverage each other's knowledge, differences, and experiences. Welcome to apply!
