Ambulance Area North, Ambulance Services
Are you a confident leader with empathy and drive? We are now looking for a new area manager who wants to continue to lead and develop ambulance services together with competent and engaged employees. We warmly welcome your application!
The Role of Area Manager
As the area manager in Ambulance Area North, you will work in a shared leadership model alongside a managerial colleague. Together, you will be responsible for leading, distributing, and planning the work, as well as developing the operations, which consist of approximately 70 employees. You are expected to be a present manager, leading your team both on-site and remotely. The role includes responsibilities for personnel, functions, work environment, and budget.
As area manager, you will contribute to continued good collaboration—both internally with other healthcare operations and externally with authorities such as the Police and Fire Services. You will report directly to the operations manager and be part of the management team, which works to provide ambulance services with good accessibility and equal care.
The management team is characterized by an open climate and close collaboration, which gives you excellent conditions for support from both managerial colleagues and support functions. The team includes the operations manager, area managers, controller, ambulance chief physician, and HR partner. In your managerial role, you will also have the support of a scheduling planner and recruitment specialist.
As we are a regional clinic, we place great importance on the entire management team working towards a unified ambulance service with common goals. The position we offer is a mandate where you will be employed in your primary profession.
Your Future Workplace
The ambulance service is an active and creative organization where we work together for high patient safety and a good work environment. We are currently engaged in a development process where engagement, participation, and transparency are key principles towards our employees.
The operations have significantly developed in recent years and now offer increasingly advanced care even before the patient reaches the hospital. We are a multidisciplinary operation, which allows us to both utilize and develop our skills across many different areas. The vision of the ambulance service is to provide the best possible ambulance care and to be an attractive workplace with the patient at the center.
In Region Jönköping County, there are 25 ambulances, including a light care ambulance and a transport ambulance distributed across twelve stations. The operations consist of three ambulance areas. Area North is one of them and includes the stations in Jönköping, Habo, and Mullsjö. Since travel is part of the job, a valid driver's license (B) is required.
You are a confident, clear, and communicative leader who inspires trust, is a good listener, and is empathetic. You are accustomed to working with goal management and freedom under responsibility, valuing participation and continuous improvement. Furthermore, you have a positive attitude towards your work and a strong ability to inspire and motivate your employees. You work in a structured and results-oriented manner, take significant responsibility for both your assignment and the development of the operations, and always keep the best interests of the entire ambulance service and our residents in focus.
