About Us

The Region Sörmland ophthalmology clinic is a regional clinic with outpatient services located at hospitals in Sörmland: Kullbergska Hospital in Katrineholm, Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna, and Nyköpings Hospital in Nyköping. We have approximately 60,000 patient visits per year. We perform cataract surgeries, outpatient surgeries, and strabismus surgeries. We also have a clinic for the treatment of macular diseases, along with various other outpatient services for different diagnoses.

We are expanding and are now looking for an Ophthalmic Nurse/Nurse for the ophthalmology clinic based at Kullbergska Hospital. Here, you will work in newly renovated facilities, equipped with modern technology, alongside various professionals in a small yet extensive clinic. We have our own operating room and injection room where we conduct cataract surgeries, outpatient surgeries, and injections. In our clinic, injections are administered by nurses.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse at our ophthalmology clinic, you can expect a fun and varied work environment.

• In our operating room, you will assist the doctor during various surgeries, including cataract surgeries, and you will be responsible for instrument management, equipment, and maintaining sterility.
• Your tasks in the clinic will include preparing patients for doctor visits through various examinations.
• You will have your own independent sessions, such as fundus photography and visual field tests.
• A significant portion of our patient group consists of those experiencing issues with the macula. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses, after training, will administer.

We are a smaller team, which means you will have the opportunity to work at the height of your competence, and teamwork is genuinely active; thus, flexibility and good consulting skills are qualities we seek in you.

Your Qualifications

Your formal education includes being a licensed nurse in health care, an ophthalmic nurse, or an operating room nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. You are attentive, accustomed to taking responsibility, have strong collaboration skills within and across professions, and maintain a positive attitude toward your work.

We place great emphasis on your personal attributes.

Employment Type

Permanent position with start date as agreed.

Daytime work, Monday - Friday.
