As Part of Norion Bank's Common Infrastructure Operations, You'll Have the Opportunity to Help Drive Our Shared Observability Platform. You'll Become a Key Team Member Managing and Developing the Entire Chain – From Application Events to Insights in Our Observability and Monitoring Tools.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Observability Platform Engineer, You'll Be the Hub Between Platform and Product. You'll Modernize Our Log/Monitoring Stack, Develop Our Architecture Based on Best Practices, and Ensure the Right Tools Are Used for the Right Needs.
You'll Work Closely with Cloud Platform and Product Teams at the Bank to Achieve Measurable Improvements in Reliability, Performance, and Developer Experience.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
• Building, Optimizing, and Monitoring Backend Platforms for Log and Analytics Data,
• Implementing Monitoring, Metrics, and Alerts in the Platform's Observability Layer,
• Working with Event Flows, Data Streams, and Log Distribution Between Systems,
• Prioritizing Security: e.g., Zero Trust Principles, IAM Design, Policy Scanning,
• Collaborating on Security-Related Issues with Our Cyber Security Department,
• Designing Index and Data Storage Strategies for High Performance and Scalability,
• Identifying and Addressing Performance Issues in the Data Processing Chain (Memory, Cache, Query Optimization),
• Proactively Maintaining Best Practices, and Coaching Development Teams in Log Structure, Field Handling, and Metadata in a Pragmatic Manner,
• Developing and Maintaining Data Collection Pipelines (e.g., with Beats, Fluentd, Logstash, OpenTelemetry),
• Analyzing and Optimizing Event Flows and Query Performance in the Data Processing Chain.
You'll Be Part of the Common Infrastructure Operations Where Our Different Teams – Cloud Platform, Core IT Services, and AI Adoption – Work Together to Deliver a Robust and Modern Banking Platform.
ABOUT YOU
We're Seeking an Observability Engineer with Solid Technical Experience in Managing Log, Trace, and Analytics Data, Who Can Take Strategic Initiatives Around Lifecycle Management, Data Storage Strategies, and Cost Optimization, and Translate Them into Concrete Technical Solutions Implemented, Operated, and Monitored in the Bank's Observability Platform.
We Prefer Candidates with Experience/Understanding of:
• Search and Analytics Platforms (e.g., Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Splunk, or Similar),
• Cloud Platforms/Infrastructure, with Several Years of Experience in Azure,
• IaC (Bicep/Terraform) and Automation with GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps Pipelines,
• Visualization and Analysis (e.g., Kibana, Grafana, Qlik, Power BI),
• Container and Orchestration Platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD).
