Chalmers IT Department is seeking an experienced Object Manager to help shape the IT support for one of Sweden's leading technical universities. About the Department
Chalmers IT Department is a comprehensive IT organization responsible for Chalmers' shared systems and provides support for the entire Chalmers group. Employees regularly participate in exciting projects and develop and manage solutions for both education and research. The IT Department currently consists of approximately 100 employees distributed across five units on the Johanneberg campus. Within the department, we focus on building well-functioning teams that collaborate, utilize new technologies, and modern development platforms to effectively create value for the organization.
Job Description
As an IT Object Manager, you will work with a team of specialists to lead, coordinate, and further develop the Infrastructure and Client Platform IT objects within an adapted version of the PM3 management model. You will ensure that the objects support the organization's needs, that deliveries meet agreed-upon goals for availability, performance, and security, and that the technical environment is stable, modern, and cost-effective. You will work closely with various organizational units to understand their needs.

The role involves participation in long-term planning and budgeting for management objects, done in close collaboration with line managers and experts from IT and the organization.
Responsibilities
As an IT Object Manager, you will lead IT-related management work, ensure that management plan goals are met, and that services provide intended value to the organization by preparing and deciding on activities to be implemented. The role also includes leading small teams of technical specialists to implement service changes.
In practice, this involves tasks such as:
• Conducting discussions with specialists, users, and management
• Managing service lifecycle
• Management planning by developing, updating, and following up on the object's management plan
• Coordinating suppliers, operations teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure quality and delivery according to SLA
• Managing requirements and prioritizing activities
• Incident and problem management, including following up on major incidents, initiating improvements, and contributing to RCA
• Budgeting, estimating costs, and working within budget frameworks
• Collaborating with suppliers and monitoring agreements
Qualifications
We are seeking an IT Object Manager with at least three years of experience as an object manager, management leader, service manager, project manager, or other leading IT role. You should have experience with IT management according to PM3, ITIL, or equivalent in large, complex, and decentralized organizations.
You need broad IT knowledge, have worked as a systems technician for at least three years, and have a genuine interest in driving continuous improvement and modernization within the object. Additionally, you should demonstrate an ability to think structurally about business, product, and technical challenges, and the ability to lead and coordinate internal resources, external customers, and suppliers. You should have an academic degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent professional experience, and a Swedish high school diploma or C1 certification according to CEFR.
