About this role
To ensure management and further development, KTH's IT support is organized according to portfolio management.
There are five sub-portfolios, which are further divided into management objects. The Digitalization Portfolio for Education is divided into a Study Administrative object, a Study Support object, and an E-learning object.
Each object has an object manager for the two different perspectives: business and IT, as well as a steering group.
The Department for Educational Support (EDO) is now seeking an object manager with a business perspective for the Study Administrative management object, Studadm.
In Studadm, KTH has gathered about ten IT components, systems, and applications that support the operations responsible for administering education at the preparatory, undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. Operational components related to these systems include, for example: establishing programs and courses, admitting and registering students, managing exam registrations, recording results, handling student mobility, and issuing degrees.
KTH's strong development is also reflected in Studadm, where preparations are underway to accommodate new IT components.
About the Department/Group
EDO's mission for the operational part of the management of the Study Administrative object is located within the unit for educational administration (AUA). The unit is divided into three groups: admissions, graduation, and the group for operational monitoring and system support (VoS), where this position is situated. VoS is responsible for the systems support work for most of KTH's study administrative systems, including creating and conducting training within these systems. Additionally, VoS is responsible for monitoring and statistics in admissions, study administration, and graduation, operational development, and working with educational administrative processes. VoS consists of 15 employees.
Job Responsibilities
Together with the IT object manager, you will be responsible for developing the annual management plan and budget and for executing its goals. You will also create and update documentation and follow up on the operations within the object. You will report to the steering group of Studadm and to the group manager for VoS.
You will also collaborate closely with the group manager and the unit manager for AUA, particularly regarding prioritizations between management and line operations.
In the Digitalization Portfolio for Education, you will work with portfolio management and the object managers for the other objects.
As an object manager with a business perspective, you will drive the management work from start to finish, coordinating and administering ongoing processes within the object. It is also your responsibility to ensure that the systems meet the operational needs. This includes receiving, coordinating, and prioritizing needs and requirements, preparing system changes, and developing system usage from a business perspective. You are also expected to have a strategic view of how the operations can best utilize new technology for their tasks.
Together with the other object managers, you are expected to work towards improving and implementing common methods and working practices within the portfolio.
