About this role

Are you attracted by the opportunity to work for Northern Sweden's opera house, in a department characterized by strong commitment and innovation? We are seeking a digital communicator for a permanent half-time position starting April 1, 2026. As a digital "native," your primary focus will be on the daily work with Norrlandsoperan's social media channels and long-term strategic issues. The position is part of the Communications and Marketing Department, consisting of four employees who report to the Communications and Marketing Director. Our task is to broaden audience groups and find new ways to generate revenue. We want more people in Umeå, the county, and the rest of the country to discover our art forms: opera, music, dance, and art, through physical encounters inside and outside Norrlandsoperan. This means we continuously work with new methods and techniques to engage audiences and strengthen the Norrlandsoperan brand. About the Role You are up-to-date on trends, patterns, and behaviors in digital channels and have a sense of tonality and understanding that all our communication must align with our brand. As a digital communicator, you work both operationally and strategically. You are responsible for producing and publishing editorial content on Norrlandsoperan's social media and targeted advertising in these channels. You will also drive the long-term strategy for Norrlandsoperan's social media to reach and attract more followers. Primary Responsibilities • Develop and drive a social media strategy aligned with the organization's artistic profile and communication goals. Current channels: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. • Planning and development of editorial content. • Produce content for posts (text production, photography, filming, and editing/cutting). • Publish posts (about Norrlandsoperan's performances, concerts, workshops, or specific campaigns) and create events for performances. • Plan and optimize paid campaigns in Meta Ads Manager (to reach different priority target groups, determined in dialogue with colleagues in the communications and marketing department). • Responsible for community management: building relationships with the audience, responding to comments, and creating dialogue in our digital channels. • Ongoing analysis and follow-up of results, editorial content, and advertising. • Documentation/archiving of posts. • Assist the marketing department with other tasks within the digital communicator role. Qualifications Higher education or post-secondary education in digital marketing/communication. Experience working with communication/marketing in digital channels/social media. Experience with: • Target group-adapted messages and channel selection. • Production of editorial content for social media (text production, photo, filming, and video editing/cutting). • Publishing and advertising in digital channels such as social media. • Analysis and evaluation of goals and results. Good proficiency in: • Working in Meta Business Suite and setting up ads in Ads Manager. • Working in Adobe Creative Suite, preferably focusing on Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. • Working simultaneously on multiple tasks and working independently towards deadlines. Meriting • We prefer candidates with documented examples of smart and idea-driven work on social media, especially Instagram and Facebook/Meta. Personal Qualities The work requires you to be self-driven, creative, and have your own initiative. When many tasks need to be handled simultaneously, you have the ability to prioritize and structure your work to meet deadlines. As a person, you are stimulated by varied work and the opportunity for close collaboration with your colleagues. You are unpretentious and bring positive energy to the group. Benefits • Annual wellness contribution. • In-house gym at Norrlandsoperan. • Benefit bicycle. • Staff benefits for tickets to Norrlandsoperan's own productions.
