About this role
**About the Position**
Nowhere Networks is seeking a curious and responsible NOC Technician who wants to help ensure that vessel customers always have stable internet connectivity around the clock, year-round. You will work in the Network Operations Center (NOC), a central role where you monitor the network in real-time, respond to alarms, troubleshoot anomalies, and ensure that issues are handled quickly and accurately.
This is a perfect role for someone with a strong interest in computers and a foothold in the networking world who wants to continue growing in a dynamic environment. Each day presents new scenarios, and you will be at the heart of the action with direct contact with technicians, customers, and colleagues. In short – you keep operations running smoothly and are the first to respond when something happens.
**Your Future Responsibilities**
The role involves being the first to act during operational disturbances, initially troubleshooting, escalating when necessary, and ensuring that all network services are functioning as they should. You are expected to be self-driven, structured, and unafraid to tackle problems as they arise.
Examples of tasks include:
- Monitoring the network in real-time through our monitoring systems
- Responding to alarms and coordinating actions during network outages or operational disturbances
- Troubleshooting basic network issues and documenting technical anomalies
- Creating tickets in the system, communicating with customers and internal technicians
- Collaborating closely with the network team to address more complex issues
- Proactively working on improving monitoring routines and operational processes
**We Are Looking For You**
You have a strong technical interest – preferably in networking – and enjoy the idea of having oversight and control over a complex technical ecosystem. You likely have already worked in a NOC role or held a support position focused on network operations.
We would like you to have:
- Some form of work experience within NOC, operations, IT support, or similar
- An interest in networking and an understanding of how IP, Layer 2 & 3, and routing work
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- The ability to take responsibility and act directly on problems
- Fluent Swedish and English, both spoken and written
**Meritorious:**
- Networking-related education
- Experience with real-time troubleshooting
- Background from, for example, smaller networking companies or telecom environments with operational responsibility
As a person, you are meticulous, curious, and enjoy finding solutions. You are confident in making decisions, even when time is of the essence, and have a natural drive to ensure that tasks are completed.
