About this role

Are you passionate about outdoor education? Are you a driven educator who takes responsibility and wants to help develop our operations? Do you want to work with nature, the environment, and outdoor education, focusing on the opportunities for every child and student? Then you might be the person we are looking for at the Nature School in Kumla Municipality! The Nature School in Kumla, based at Lugnet in Kvarntorp/Hällabrottet, offers outdoor education to children and educators in the municipality. Our operations serve as an important link to provide all students from preschool to grade 6 in primary school (and adapted primary school F-9) with opportunities for experiential and active learning in nature. Our motto is "learning outdoors," where students' own experiences, discoveries, and sensory impressions in nature are the focus. We complement indoor teaching and use nature as a learning environment for all subjects, always connected to the school's governing documents. We offer various theme-based visits related to the area's geology, biology, and cultural history. Our goal is to increase interest in and create good conditions for future studies in nature. JOB DESCRIPTION As a Nature School Educator, you will be the key person driving and developing the mission of the Nature School. Currently, there is already one Nature School Educator in the organization with whom you will collaborate. Your main responsibilities include: Teaching: Planning and conducting theme-based teaching in outdoor education, with a clear connection to the preschool and primary school curricula. Support and Guidance: Supporting educators in their activities by working with and providing NTA materials. Development Work: Actively participating in and contributing to the development of the municipality's action plan for STEM. What are NTA and STEM? NTA (Natural Science and Technology for All): A comprehensive concept for school development in natural science, technology, and mathematics. NTA consists of various themed boxes with materials, teacher guides, and professional development that provide students the opportunity to conduct systematic and practical investigations. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics): An umbrella term for the subjects of natural science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM focuses on promoting the development of fundamental and interdisciplinary skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration through practical and problem-based learning. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is accustomed to taking responsibility, is proactive, and has a strong passion for outdoor education. You have the ability to see the potential in all children and students and are an inspiring role model. Requirements: - Teaching certification (with qualifications in relevant subjects). - Documented experience in outdoor education. - A valid driver's license (category B), as the Nature School's operations are mobile. OTHER You apply for the position via the electronic application form on Offentliga Jobb. The appointment to the position will be based on the information you provide, so it is crucial that you are thorough when filling out your application. In your application, you must indicate your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance. Do you have protected personal data?
