About this role
The County Administrative Board of Skåne is a government authority at the regional level responsible for state administration in the county. We work to ensure that national goals are realized in the region based on local conditions. Our tasks include providing advice, issuing permits, supervision, planning, and strategy development. We manage natural areas and distribute financial support. We collaborate with stakeholders throughout the county.
We have approximately 600 employees and offices in Malmö and Kristianstad.
**Description**
The County Administrative Board is seeking a nature communicator for the conservation unit within the Department of Nature and Water.
Your workplace will be either at our office in Malmö or Kristianstad. The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period. Start date is as soon as possible or as agreed.
The conservation unit is responsible for the management and maintenance of the three national parks and around 300 state nature reserves. The unit also coordinates outdoor life assignments, conducts nature education activities, and guides visitors at our three nature centers located at Kullaberg, Stenshuvud, and Söderåsen. The unit's work also includes property management, which involves responsibility for buildings, leases, and usage rights on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
The County Administrative Board has some field staff, but most of the practical work in the state reserves is carried out by others. We often have agreements with landowners and tenants, as well as with the Skåne Landscape Foundation and individual municipalities regarding maintenance. We also receive assistance from the Swedish Forest Agency and their work teams or contracted entrepreneurs.
Currently, we have several employees working with nature information and guidance at our three state nature centers, as well as across the entire unit.
**Responsibilities**
The management of protected nature is conducted in accordance with the guidelines and manuals of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The work currently involves producing signs by creating print originals, ordering and drafting agreements regarding illustrations, translations, and print originals. Work in ArcGIS to create maps for various needs is also included. The role involves providing information and communication to our visitors regarding regulations in protected areas, as well as what the right of public access entails. Work with websites and social media is part of the role. You will also participate in the unit's collaboration on communication and outdoor life.
As an employee with us, you have three roles: employee, colleague, and service provider. In your role as an employee, you represent the authority; together with your colleagues, you contribute to the overall results, and as a service provider, you create societal benefits based on your expertise.
