Every day, the Tenants' Association, along with its elected representatives, employees, and members, contributes to improving housing for people. We have been doing this for many years, and we want to continue advocating for tenants' interests, rights, and opportunities to influence their housing in the future.
**Economist with a focus on negotiation sought**
The Tenants' Association is a member organization that works for tenants' interests and rights. We have over half a million members, and our overarching mission is that everyone has the right to good housing at a reasonable cost. We are a politically independent and democratically structured organization. The Tenants' Association supports tenants in rental relationships and operates without profit motives. Currently, we have 75,000 members, of which approximately 1,200 are active as elected representatives, and around 70 are employees.
The negotiation unit in the Western Sweden Region covers a geographical area from Orust and Tjörn to Varberg. You will be part of a team of 20 employees who annually negotiate rents for about 200,000 households. You will have extensive contact with elected representatives and members. **Job Responsibilities:** We are looking for a team member who wants to work with negotiations while also contributing to strengthening tenants' positions in the housing market within the economic sphere. We are searching for someone who wants to develop economic thinking beyond the conventional assumptions of national economics.
As a negotiator, your primary task will be to lead our negotiation delegations in rental negotiations with private and municipal property companies. As an economist, your main responsibility will be to develop economic models and analyses used in the negotiation activities. One of your key tasks will be to lead and train our volunteer elected representatives in the delegations on negotiation strategy, tactics, and economics. The position is based at the office in Gothenburg. Your tasks will include, among others:
• Preparing, conducting, evaluating, and following up on rental negotiations
• Monitoring economic issues
• Communicating with elected representatives and members
• Coordinating negotiation work with elected representatives in the delegation
• Participating in the implementation of training for members and elected representatives
• Managing member cases
• Participating in renovation processes with tenants
**Qualifications:** To fit in as a negotiator, you should be comfortable in a leadership role and have an easy time taking responsibility and building trust. You have a systematic approach to work and are calm, secure, and able to focus even in pressured situations. In the role of negotiator, you are service-oriented and communicative in both speech and writing. The negotiation work requires a broad skill set, and therefore we recruit employees with various theoretical and practical knowledge. We are now looking for someone who has:
• A higher education degree in economics or another relevant economic field
• Experience in negotiations is an advantage
• Good knowledge of the Office suite, primarily Excel
• Experience working in non-profit organizations or similar work is an advantage

**About the Position**
This is a full-time position, which includes some evening work. We apply a probationary period with immediate start or as agreed.

The Western Sweden Region has over 67,000 members, of which approximately 1,600 are active as elected representatives and around 80 are employees. The regional office is located in Gothenburg.
