About this role

As a network specialist, you can contribute to public and animal health! The IT unit at the Swedish Medical Products Agency is looking to expand with an additional network specialist – could you be the one we are seeking? Our Organization The IT unit at the Swedish Medical Products Agency consists of over 100 dedicated employees with diverse backgrounds and skills, working together to address the agency's IT needs comprehensively. We participate in the entire lifecycle from idea, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment to management, incident handling, and user support. We continuously develop our working methods, technology, and tools, as well as our collaboration within teams and with the organization to deliver accessible, stable, and secure IT support. Your Responsibilities As a network specialist at the Swedish Medical Products Agency, you will work alongside three colleagues with the full spectrum of network technology. You need to be interested in various aspects of networking, from client configuration to advanced firewall solutions and modern data center fabric. Your work will involve managing and developing wireless networks, access networks, and core networks, VPN connections, a smaller WAN, and data center networks. In addition to pure network technology, firewalls and load balancers are also important functions included in your tasks. We place a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and are constantly developing new solutions to enhance the protection of the Swedish Medical Products Agency's information. Your Background You have a post-secondary education in network technology or equivalent knowledge acquired through relevant work experience. Additionally, you have: • At least five years of experience working with LAN, IP protocol family, switches, and routers in a larger organization • A good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing Desirable Experience • Management of firewalls, VPNs, certificates, and cryptography • Management and development of wireless networks and services within them • Advanced data center networks • Work with network authentication solutions (802.1x) • Network-related services such as DHCP, DNS, NTP • Load balancers and network separation solutions • Operation of hybrid networks with resources locally and in various clouds Your Personal Qualities To thrive in this role, you are driven by problem-solving, interested in technology and development.
