Systems Unit / Network Planning Department The Systems Unit is responsible for technology and equipment in the Armed Forces' fixed command support systems, as well as the technical and infrastructural design and architecture of the joint information infrastructure of the Armed Forces. The Network Planning Department, where the position is located, is responsible for the planning and production of services, as well as the configuration of network equipment in the Armed Forces' fixed telecommunications network (FTN). We have approximately 50 employees located in several locations. Main Responsibilities You will work with planning, production, and configuration management of services in an IP-based network. We operate in the Armed Forces' fixed telecommunications network (FTN) with demanding users, all of whom play a role in Sweden's total defense. Examples of operations that require our involvement include air and sea operations, overseas missions, and all activities involving multiple units in the Armed Forces. Additionally, you will provide technical support within your area of expertise to the operations and management organization as well as decision-makers. The Armed Forces are experiencing strong growth, so the tasks may evolve over time. You will work in a team of experienced colleagues who will help you integrate into the role in the best way possible. Requirements Qualifications • Post-secondary education focused on IT, or equivalent relevant experience deemed comparable by the employer • Good communication skills and the ability to express yourself clearly in both speech and writing • A valid driver's license, at least category B Personal Attributes We are looking for someone who is security-conscious and has a solution-oriented mindset. Meritorious • Cisco certifications, such as CCNA/CCNP • Good knowledge of the Armed Forces' fixed telecommunications network (FTN) • Experience handling classified information • Current and relevant experience in the planning and configuration of IP-based networks • Experience working with DNS, firewalls, routers, and switches • Knowledge of cryptographic systems • Strong understanding of the function, structure, and expansion processes of telecommunications and its infrastructure To ensure the success of the authority's mission, all employees are expected to act according to the established values. Additional Information In the Armed Forces, the position is referred to as Production Engineer. The position is a permanent full-time employment as a civilian employee and begins with a 6-month probation period (not applicable for current employees of the Armed Forces). Work location: Bålsta. The position involves business travel both for day trips and longer periods. You will have the opportunity to undergo combat training to handle personal protective equipment.
