The Assignment
Would you like to have a key role in the democratic process? As a Committee Secretary, you will ensure high-quality decision-making documentation for the municipal executive board and municipal council, and drive efficient meeting processes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to help develop operations through IT.
Challenges and Opportunities
As a Committee Secretary, you will support managers and administrators in preparing decision-making documentation for committees, councils, municipal executive board, and municipal council. You will compile documents, call meetings, and write minutes.
You will also write service statements and administer compensation for board members. Furthermore, you will monitor committee administrative issues and participate in committee secretary networks. You will also be responsible for coordinating motions, referrals, and E-proposals.
In our unit, we work with continuous improvements where you will contribute to our collective operational development by ensuring smart working methods. You will closely collaborate with other support functions such as Registry, Platina Management, and City Archives.
What You Need to Bring
• Completed high school education, with higher education in political science, law, or other equivalent fields considered meritorious
• Experience as a Committee Secretary or similar
• Knowledge of municipal and administrative law, GDPR, public access, and confidentiality
• Experience with document and case management systems (Platina or similar is meritorious)
• Good computer skills and experience using IT tools, including Office 365, in daily work
• Ability to develop and improve work processes through digital solutions is meritorious
• Good Swedish language skills, both verbal and written
• B driver's license
We are seeking someone who enjoys teamwork and is open to helping others and collaborating to achieve common goals. You are self-driven, structured, and have an excellent problem-solving ability. You have a feel for political issues and a strong service mindset. Additionally, you have an interest in IT and see it as a natural part of committee administration.
Employment Type, Scope, and Start
Employment Type: Temporary replacement (parental leave) for 1 year
Scope: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Evening work may occur
Commencement: January 2026
