The Competence Center for Multilingualism works to ensure that students receive instruction in their mother tongue and study guidance in their strongest language. Currently, there are 38 languages represented within the organization. We work both with municipal authorities and individuals.
We are looking for a mother tongue teacher in Nuer.

Job Responsibilities
The role of a mother tongue teacher is a traveling position governed by student needs. The teacher will be required to visit various schools within the municipality – both central and the municipality's outskirts schools – to meet with students. The responsibilities of the mother tongue teacher may include the following: Mother tongue instruction, study guidance, remote teaching, remote guidance, and support to the Reception Unit Hello Umeå as a language supporter.
Study Guidance
Study guidance means that you may have students in grades 1-9, as well as in the Language Introduction program at the high school level. Study guidance can occur before, during, or after the student's lesson time.
You will work closely with the student's mentor and subject teachers who plan and conduct lessons while you support the student in their mother tongue to help them achieve knowledge in various school subjects. You are flexible and able to adapt to changing conditions. You will also provide support in the reception of newly arrived children and students, which includes information meetings, integration support, direct assistance, and assessment of newly arrived students' knowledge.
Qualifications
You have Nuer as your mother tongue, documented language skills in this, Swedish B/Swedish 2, as well as demonstrated strong digital competency. You have a teaching degree, whether Swedish or foreign, or other pedagogical experience. Documented knowledge in multiple languages is an advantage.
You are creative, independent, flexible, and resilient under stress. You are curious and eager to develop. As a person, you easily build relationships with both staff and children, as well as guardians. You have good collaborative skills, are a good listener, and can communicate and handle various situations in a constructive manner. You take responsibility for your tasks and are accommodating in your interactions.
We would appreciate if you attach a personal letter and CV written in Swedish. If you have a teaching certificate, please include this as well. Personal suitability is highly valued.
