Together, we strive to make each other better, as we know that when we develop and continuously improve together, we advance Järfälla. **JOB DESCRIPTION** Järfälla Language Center is responsible for the reception of newly arrived students, mother tongue instruction, and study guidance in Järfälla Municipality. Here, you will be part of a staff group consisting of approximately 60 people, most of whom work as both mother tongue teachers and study guides. As a mother tongue teacher and study guide, you will support students in their language and knowledge development using their mother tongue, and act as a cultural and linguistic bridge. You will do this through close collaboration with the student’s mentor and teaching staff. You will provide high-quality instruction and maintain an inclusive approach. You will work with students of various ages. The position is based across several school units. Your responsibilities include: - Planning mother tongue instruction based on the curriculum for the subject of mother tongue - Utilizing digital tools for both student learning and the planning and documentation of instruction - Being responsible for assessment and grading - Reporting attendance - Representing Järfälla Language Center externally **QUALIFICATIONS** We are looking for someone who: - Has the relevant language as their mother tongue - Has excellent proficiency in Swedish and their mother tongue, both spoken and written - Has a good understanding of the culture and school systems in the countries the students come from - Is familiar with Swedish culture and the Swedish school system - Has knowledge of the Swedish school curriculum and governing documents - Holds a teaching qualification or equivalent pedagogical education and experience - Has experience in mother tongue instruction and study guidance - Is comfortable engaging with students individually and in groups, and can build good relationships - Is computer literate - Is highly flexible and has a solution-focused approach, as rapid changes may occur in response to the needs of the schools - Is accustomed to taking significant personal responsibility and can work independently As a mother tongue teacher, you will encounter a large number of staff with whom you need to collaborate, including mother tongue colleagues and subject teachers in the schools. The ability to collaborate with all your colleagues and other staff is essential for working with us.
