The Multilingualism Unit organizes mother tongue instruction, study guidance, and reception of newly arrived students. Teachers in the unit teach multiple languages.
Through collegial learning, we continuously strive to improve and develop pedagogical practices. Our focus is on pedagogical development, professionalism, and job satisfaction.
The unit has meeting rooms and workspaces in the Dergård area together with Lerum High School, a central location in Lerum that is easily accessible by train/bus.
DUTIES
Your assignment includes teaching mother tongue Tigrinya in all school forms for both primary and secondary schools. The assignment may also include study guidance.
You will enthusiastically participate in meetings and professional development opportunities. You will plan, implement, evaluate, and develop pedagogical work both independently and together with colleagues and the work team. The work team meets once a week for collegial learning and development of the operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone who is a positive force at work and easily creates and maintains good social relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians. You are progressive in your leadership and a good listener. You are fundamentally a person who easily finds solutions in challenging situations.
You have didactic knowledge of Tigrinya and good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
You are flexible in your pedagogical approach and meet students with respect, encouragement, and high expectations. When interacting with school personnel, you are cooperative and solution-oriented while skillfully communicating your mission.
You are committed to your own learning and development with others. Flexibility and solution focus are important, as well as your ability to collaborate and communicate with students, colleagues, school management, and other staff.
The work requires good proficiency in handling digital tools.
A permanent position requires a teaching certification.
At minimum, high school eligibility or equivalent is required. Completed SFI and at least SAS foundation or equivalent. Higher education is meritorious.
A driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are desirable.
