Newhouse is seeking a Model Assistant / Product Development Assistant (internship + probationary employment + permanent position)

**About the Role**
As a Model Assistant at Newhouse, you will work closely with our Designer, Technical Designer, and Purchasing/Production Manager. You will be the hub of the model department – the one who ensures that the details are correct and the workflow runs smoothly from the first sketch to the finished sample.
You will:
- Support the creative and technical work,
- Take responsibility for sample management, measurements, and follow-ups,
- Communicate with suppliers,
- Contribute to maintaining the high quality that characterizes Newhouse.
You will receive a clear introduction to our products, systems, and working methods, and we will ensure that you have the support to grow into the role. The position offers significant opportunities for development – both technically and operationally. As you grow in the role, you may take on increased responsibilities in product development and/or project management. In the long term, there is also the possibility to develop towards a more coordinating role in parts of the collection and production flow.
You will report to the head of the product department.
**Your Main Responsibilities**
- Participate in fittings and product development meetings alongside the Designer and Technical Designer. → You will be responsible for taking notes, compiling comments, and communicating with suppliers.
- Perform measurements, sample comments, and quality control upon delivery.
- Follow up and monitor sample and production plans (proto, PP samples, photo samples, shipping samples).
- Conduct and document tests and report any deviations.
- Support the technical designer with sample monitoring and supplier dialogue.
- Assist the purchasing/production manager in following up on production, deliveries, and timelines, as well as technical documentation when sourcing new suppliers.
- Administer and structure Newhouse's material and certification database and support the marketing and sales department regarding certificates and documentation.
- Contribute to maintaining a high standard in our measurement charts, fits, and technical specifications.
- Ensure order and structure in the sample room, sample archive, and documentation.
**You Are Suitable for the Role If You:**
- Have at least 2 years of experience in:
- Technical design, and/or
- Directing/technical roles, and/or
- Design/design assistant, and/or
- Purchasing/purchasing assistant within fashion or textiles.
- Have a genuine interest in fashion and an understanding of quality and fit.
- Are accustomed to working with:
- Sample management,
- Measurements,
- Supplier communication.
- Are meticulous, structured, and solution-oriented.
- Are positive and cheerful with a can-do attitude.
- Thrive in a role where you collaborate closely with multiple functions.
- Are a team player.
- Communicate well in Swedish and English – both verbally and in writing.
- Have good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel.
- Have experience with Illustrator.
**Desirable Skills:**
- Business Central (BC) ERP system or other relevant PDM systems
- CLO 3D
- Photoshop
- Lectra Modaris + Diamino
**About the Position**
Location: Newhouse Headquarters, Borås
Scope: Full-time
Structure: 3-month internship -> 3-month probationary employment -> Goal of permanent employment
Start: As agreed, preferably in January 2026.
