As a software developer at BAE Systems Bofors, you will play an important role in the development and management of our systems. Our software must function even when the environment shakes, vibrates, sparks, or freezes. You will be part of one of our teams where collaboration and knowledge exchange are key components in developing the tailored systems our customers require. **About the Role** In your role, you will have the opportunity to participate in the entire development process, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment of the systems. You will provide technical advice and support to customers to optimize their systems and processes, as well as identify and resolve technical issues and bugs that may arise. We will help you stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends to deliver the best solutions to our customers. You will be part of the IT Security and Software Testing section, which currently consists of 20 colleagues. Here, we work closely with the Software Design section, where we learn from each other and grow together. Both sections belong to the development department and provide software expertise to all of the company's product areas – artillery systems, naval systems, combat vehicles, and ammunition. Within our section, we work with both new development, management, testing of software and hardware, as well as IT security. As a software developer with us at BAE Systems Bofors, you will work with technology at the intersection of theory and reality. You will design, develop, test, and implement software solutions tailored to customer requirements and needs – solutions that must withstand extreme environments and deliver every second. **Responsibilities and Tasks** The range of possible tasks is broad but primarily involves programming. The platform is mostly based on Linux, but other variants are also present. Your tasks will include developing software in C/C++, participating in development on one of our Linux-based platforms, deploying operating systems on new hardware platforms, or conducting software testing. There will also be opportunities for you to participate in test firings. More examples of tasks include: - Breaking down and creating an understanding of the requirements projects receive from customers - Working on the development of real-time systems in a Linux environment - Working with configuration and IT hardening of operating systems - Participating in the development of new Linux-based platforms within our projects - Deploying operating systems on new hardware platforms - Conducting software testing **Who Are You?** We believe you have a technical education as a Computer Engineer or Electrical Engineer from a university or college, or other competencies assessed as equivalent. It is advantageous if you have previous experience as a hardware or software developer and have good knowledge of various operating systems. We also value an understanding of standards and IT security. As a person, you are solution-focused, innovative, structured, and enjoy working in a creative environment.
