About this role

Are you a driven software developer looking to take the next step in your career? At Combitech in Karlskoga and Örebro, you'll have the chance to work with embedded systems at the cutting edge of technology and develop in an exciting environment. We are seeking someone with experience implementing robust software solutions and proficient in programming with C, C++, and Python. Become part of our expansive unit where we invest in your skills development and help you reach your full potential. What We Offer At Combitech, we focus on our employees, who are the core, brain, and heart of our operations. We do this by investing in your skills development, making it easy to combine work with daily life, and offering other fair benefits. Within our Systems Engineering division, we are seeking engineers who want to help shape our future direction. Here you'll have the opportunity to arrange everything from after-work activities and hackathons to training projects and team-building activities. There is also space to propose and organize workshops and seminars with leading experts to deepen the team's expertise. Beyond technical work, there is also the opportunity to participate in business development and customer relationship management. By actively contributing to strengthening our partnerships and identifying new business opportunities, senior engineers can play a central role in our continued success. If you want to contribute innovative ideas with a focus on collaboration, this is the right place. Together, we can build a workplace where every engineer has the opportunity to grow and reach their full potential. What the Role Involves We are seeking a skilled software development consultant specializing in embedded systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions tailored to specific customer requirements and needs. You will work closely with the customer's team to understand their needs and challenges, and ensure that software solutions are both scalable and robust. Your role includes participating in the entire development process, from initial requirement gathering to system testing and deployment. You will provide technical advice and support to customers to optimize their systems and processes, as well as identify and solve technical problems and bugs that may arise. Additionally, it is important that you stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends in the field to deliver the best solutions to our customers. You will be based at our office in Karlskoga, with potential assignments in Örebro and Karlstad, either on-site with a customer or in-house. As the position may involve work covered by defense secrecy, you will need to undergo and pass a security assessment with registry control. Selection will be ongoing. We look forward to your application! What We Are Looking For We are seeking someone with a few years of experience who is now interested in new challenges, with a desire to develop personally and in their role as a consultant and engineer. You can adapt when necessary and have a curiosity that helps you find smart solutions to emerging challenges. You should have good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both customers and teams. To succeed in the role of embedded systems software developer, you should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics, or software engineering, or equivalent work experience. You should be proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller development is meritorious, as is an understanding of communication protocols like I2C, SPI, or UART. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking are also important, as is experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) to ensure smooth and efficient development processes.
