Medical Services provides healthcare, research, and education in the fields of laboratory medicine, prehospital care, and imaging and laboratory technology. Within the administration, we have over 2,100 employees. Medical Services includes the following areas of operations: • Clinical genetics, pathology, and molecular diagnostics • Clinical immunology and transfusion medicine • Clinical chemistry and pharmacology • Clinical microbiology, Biobank, Infection Control, Occupational and Environmental Medicine South, and Practicum • Basic Laboratory Medicine • Ambulance services. As an Environmental Strategist, you will be part of the administration staff that supports management and line operations while collectively addressing the overall need for specialized expertise. The administrative staff consists of strategists in environmental and chemical matters, laboratory operations, overall property and equipment issues, as well as safety and fire protection. You will join an organization with a strong drive and a focus on solutions and opportunities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The core of this position is to lead and further develop our administrative work related to the organization’s environmental objectives. You will take a leading role in knowledge enhancement and competency development within the administration, as well as inspire people in various contexts. Region Skåne has an environmental program with strategic goals until 2030, and your role will include the implementation of this within the administration, which encompasses both strategic development issues and networking, both internally and externally. You will also work with: • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on environmental efforts internally and externally • Leading overarching change and development initiatives • Educating managers and employees in environmental and sustainability matters • Acting as a mentor to management teams on environmental and sustainability issues • Providing support and advice to operations to reduce environmental and climate impact • Working with the environmental management system, including as an audit leader and developer of guidelines • Participating in efforts related to chemical products in laboratory and prehospital operations • Managing contacts with environmental supervisory authorities and main water suppliers • Keeping abreast of changes in the external environment and integrating new requirements into daily work • Serving as an expert in procurement and acquisitions within the environmental field • Developing environmental and sustainability work in waste management, material use, energy, as well as emissions to water and air • Contributing to governance and leadership related to environment, quality, internal management systems, and communication • Providing on-site support and advice at our various operations. You will collaborate closely with administration management and participate in region-wide networks in the field. You will also be responsible for driving and developing the existing environmental network. There is a connection to occupational health matters where your expertise will be utilized. Additional qualified tasks may also be included within the administrative staff's area of responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for the position, you have: • A recognized higher education degree with an environmental and/or sustainability focus, such as an environmental scientist, environmental engineer, or other training deemed equivalent • Several years of experience working in similar positions within the private or public sector as well as various communication efforts related to environmental matters, both written and verbal • Experience working with environmental management systems. It is advantageous if you have: • Experience working in a politically governed organization • Good knowledge of the application of environmental legislation, both national and European • Experience in implementing and developing environmental management systems and conducting audits (ISO 14001) • Knowledge in the chemical field • Experience interpreting Swedish and European legislation in the chemical area • Experience in working with occupational health issues • Knowledge of sustainable procurement.
