Environmental Planner

Sollentuna is now seeking an environmental planner with specific responsibility for noise and air quality. Here you will combine environmental legal expertise with urban development strategy, in close collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders. About the Role You will become a key person in driving the municipality's environmental and climate work within urban development. You will collaborate with urban planners, land development engineers, traffic planners, and project managers, and drive environmental issues in our urban development projects. You will be responsible for working towards the municipality's goals, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, and developing strategies to address environmental and climate challenges. You will also work with strategic environmental and climate issues based on the municipality's needs. Initially, the focus will be on noise and air quality - you will lead the municipality's strategic work in these areas. Selected Work Tasks - Responsible for environmental and climate issues in detailed planning and other urban development projects - Strategic work and investigations in the environmental field, focusing on noise and air - Ordering and reviewing consultant investigations - Conducting environmental assessments and environmental impact assessments - Dialogue with authorities and handling referrals and cases - Opportunity for coordination responsibility for inter-municipal water cooperation Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant academic education, for example in natural sciences, engineering, or urban development. You have broad knowledge of environmental issues related to urban development and a good understanding of environmental legislation and planning and building laws. Experience in the public sector, work with noise and air quality, strategic work, and knowledge of GIS are meriting. You are structured, collaborative, and have good communication skills - both verbal and written. The role requires initiative and sensitivity in dialogue with authorities and residents.
