Karlstad Airport is Värmland's largest airport and is owned by Karlstad Municipality and Region Värmland. Currently, approximately 35 employees work here. Our goal is to provide the region with well-adapted air traffic, both for businesses and private individuals, with a good selection of regular and charter flights. Karlstad Airport has been designated as an emergency airport by the government, which means that we maintain readiness around the clock, every day of the year, to open the airport for essential public service traffic. **Description** At Karlstad Airport, we aim to be at the forefront of our environmental efforts. We are therefore seeking someone who is passionate about environmental issues and views the transition to a greener future as an exciting and important mission. **Responsibilities** As an Environmental Officer, you will play a central role in planning and coordinating work within environmental, climate, and sustainability matters. You will act as a support to the organization and contribute to ensuring that our processes comply with current legal requirements while also promoting improvements within your area. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental permits, both within our operations and in collaboration with external stakeholders who utilize the airport. You will maintain ongoing dialogue with the supervisory authority and be responsible for reporting in accordance with the notification obligations pertaining to our environmental permit. **Qualifications** We are looking for someone with an academic background in environmental science, environmental health and safety, or another educational background that we consider equivalent. Experience with similar responsibilities in the environmental and sustainability field is an asset, particularly if you have worked with the coordination and development of environmental management systems according to ISO 14001. You must have excellent communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, good proficiency in English, and strong IT skills. You will also contribute to our digital development. To succeed in this role, you are communicative and build trusting relationships both internally and externally. You see collaboration as a given, possess good teamwork skills, and act in a manner that contributes to the whole. You are meticulous, structured, and able to plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks effectively. You have a holistic view and the ability to independently drive your work towards established goals and in accordance with applicable legislation.
