About the Position
Now there is an opportunity to become one of us at the Public Health Protection Unit, Örebro Municipality! With us, 13 fantastic employees work together. The Public Health Protection Unit is responsible for inspections of individual and communal sewage systems, oversight of health protection activities such as schools and preschools, swimming pools, housing supervision, and complaints regarding living environments.
As an environmental and health protection inspector in our team, you will have the opportunity to work independently in a combination of office work and fieldwork. During office hours, you will collaborate closely with colleagues who have diverse experience and educational backgrounds. The position available is in the sewage group, a wonderful team of colleagues specializing in both technical solutions and legal texts. We have a well-adapted approach towards both entrepreneurs and municipal residents regarding cases involving individual and communal sewage systems. We work with flexible hours, and you have significant freedom to influence your schedule and content based on your interests and competencies. Additionally, there will be opportunities for further specialization in specific areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Case management in our case management system
- Plan inspection work and carry out inspection visits
- Handle qualified tasks such as investigations, planning, and follow-ups regarding individual sewage systems
- Write reports and formulate decision documents
Qualifications
As a person, you are self-reliant, calm, and confident in yourself. You possess very good collaborative skills and a humble approach. To ensure the quality of our work and that we operate consistently, collaboration through regular meetings and spontaneous dialogues with colleagues and necessary contacts to discuss cases, seek support, and deliberate is essential. You also need to be structured. You plan and organize both long- and short-term in your calendar to fill your workdays and weeks, as well as create a good routine for recording your hours worked in the case management system. Furthermore, you are good at absorbing information and clear in your communication. You need to be able to familiarize yourself with previous cases, legal texts, templates, and routines, and reformulate this into a simpler and clearer message when out in the field and when necessary with both internal and external contacts.

Requirements:
- Relevant university degree in a related field for environmental and health protection
- Category B driving license
Meritorious:
- Experience in regulatory activities
- Documented knowledge of the Environmental Code and experience in reading and utilizing legal texts
- Relevant experience working with environmentally hazardous activities in municipal, state, or private sectors

About the Workplace
At the Environmental Office in Örebro, we have over 50 dedicated employees working on behalf of the Environmental Committee. We are three units: Environmental Protection, Health Protection, and Food Safety. For several years now, we have worked entirely digitally in one of Örebro's most modern offices – Citypassagen. Since Citypassagen is located right next to the travel center, it offers excellent commuting opportunities and a modern digital infrastructure.
