JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
At the Environment and Building Department, we work to ensure our municipal residents have a good environment, both indoors and outdoors. They should have conditions for good health, and their food should be safe. To achieve this, we conduct supervision, control, and monitoring of water and air. Our work contributes to long-term sustainable community development.
This Environmental and Health Protection Inspector position is specifically focused on working with individual sewage systems. You will handle applications and conduct inspections. As an inspector, you will perform on-site supervision, provide advice, check for deficiencies, follow up, and make decisions when necessary. A professional approach is crucial in creating good contact with private individuals and contractors whose cases you manage.
You will be part of a 4-person work group that collectively plans and develops supervision work and our work methodology. In the group, working on internal quality and development issues is a daily given. You will independently plan and schedule your inspections, creating flexibility for yourself. Each person drives their cases independently from start to finish, but the group works closely together and distributes work collectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking candidates with a college or university degree in environmental and health protection, or education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in public authority work and supervision is desirable.
The position involves public authority work, so you must be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You should be pedagogical and able to explain things clearly.
Our profession requires excellent communication skills that create engagement and good contact with those we meet. Providing good service and treatment to private individuals and businesses is a given for you.
You are curious and eager to learn new things. In your work, you like to see opportunities for solutions and development. Due to mobile work, a B driver's license (manual transmission) is required.
