About this role
Do you want to make a real difference? Here you will contribute to creating safety for people and societies. What you do matters.
Your Role
As an Environmental and Chemical Engineer, you will participate and provide advisory support in our assignments, primarily related to the Swedish Armed Forces, Defense Materiel Administration, and military aircraft systems. This may also include projects within Saab. The work will involve close collaboration with our customers and their system engineers, as well as your colleagues on Saab projects.
You will play a central role in supporting our clients by identifying their needs and offering advice on materials and chemical products. Your expertise will be key to providing tailored solutions and guiding customers through alternative options.
Although you will largely drive your own assignments, you will belong to, and have, the fantastic ECS (Environmental and Chemical Services) team by your side, working together, exchanging ideas, and sharing experiences along the way.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Support clients in coordinating and monitoring chemical products and legislation
* Assist clients in identifying and replacing materials and chemical products
* Establish and maintain technical documentation and regulations regarding chemical products
* Monitor legislation and analyze how changes impact our clients
* Support waste and decommissioning areas with respect to human and environmental risks
* Support customers with development and adaptation of safety data sheets according to REACH/CLP, including translation to Swedish
Saab has joined "Race to Zero" to reduce our climate footprint, with a strong focus on phasing out and monitoring hazardous substances and materials. As an Environmental and Chemical Engineer, you will drive your own assignments, maintain ongoing customer contact, and provide guidance on these issues.
Your location may be at one of our following sites: Arboga, Uppsala, or Linköping.
Your Profile
We are seeking someone with a higher education in chemistry and experience working with various environmental and chemical issues, focusing on compliance and regulations. We also consider it a plus if you have experience in business development. It is important that you enjoy working in an advisory and decision-making capacity while being attentive and adaptable to our customers' needs and wishes, in order to offer them the solutions they require.
Furthermore, you need to be comfortable taking initiative and independently structuring and completing your assignments, focusing on quality, results, time, and cost. For this reason, we believe it is beneficial to have a few years of similar work experience.
To succeed in the role, you have:
* Higher education in chemistry (bachelor's degree or higher)
* Experience working with customer-related issues
* Experience in the environmental/chemical field with compliance and regulations
* Good knowledge of chemical legislation such as REACH and CLP
* Experience supporting customers with development and adaptation of safety data sheets according to REACH/CLP, including translation to Swedish
* Familiarity with ensuring correct classifications and label information, and working systematically and efficiently with regulatory documentation
* Very good Excel skills
The position requires that you pass and are approved according to current security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may, where applicable, require certain citizenship.
