Description The Environmental and Health Protection Office develops society and has a broad mandate including strategic planning, permits, and supervision. We work in teams and support each other during temporary peak workloads. The Environmental and Health Protection Department is a local supervisory authority for activities covered by the Environmental Code, Food Act, and other legislation. Approximately 50 employees work in the department, divided into four units: environmental protection, health protection, food, and administration. There are excellent development opportunities within the office and other departments. Job Responsibilities We are seeking an inspector to work with case management for contaminated areas. The work involves reviewing and preparing documentation, providing information, writing decisions, following up requirements, actions, and decisions. Supervision of landfills and other activities with control programs is included. The position also involves handling referrals from various authorities or municipal departments. Collaboration occurs with other supervisory authorities, such as within the Metropolitan Network. Qualifications In the regulatory role, you should have the ability to make objective and factual assessments, set clear requirements, and make decisions. The regulatory role also demands a pronounced sense of integrity. You should have strong social skills that contribute to creating mutual trust and respect when interacting with operators, colleagues, and citizens. You enjoy working both independently and in groups. You are creative, engaged, and flexible, with good planning and prioritization skills. A requirement is holding a college or university degree in environmental protection or another relevant field. For this position, previous experience working with contaminated areas and good knowledge of the Environmental Code are advantageous. The ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing in Swedish is mandatory. We place significant emphasis on personal suitability. Conditions You need excellent communication skills in both speech and writing, be meticulous, and be well aware of goals and quality standards. The work is independent with significant personal responsibility while also requiring strong collaboration skills. It is important that you are service-oriented and enjoy meeting new people.
