Welcome to us! The Environmental and Building Unit is part of the Community Building Office. The Community Building Office also includes the Street and Waste Unit, the Parks and Nature Unit, and the Planning and Geodata Unit. The team consists of eight environmental and health protection inspectors, one environmental administrator, two building permit officers, two building inspectors, one building permit administrator, and one housing adaptation officer. You will work with environmental supervision, applications, and permits related to, among other things, environmentally hazardous activities, individual sewage systems, and agriculture. The role of inspector offers a combination of fieldwork and office work. The assignments vary in both nature and difficulty, as well as in the balance between independent work and collaboration with colleagues. **RESPONSIBILITIES** You will primarily be working with the supervision of agriculture, environmentally hazardous activities, and the inventory and assessment of individual sewage systems in rural areas. In your work, you will make a difference by, among other things, reducing the risks of environmentally hazardous emissions and mitigating eutrophication in our lakes and waterways, as well as preventing nuisances that individual sewage systems may cause. As an environmental inspector, you will also work in a guiding role. The work is varied in terms of tasks, and you will have significant influence over how the work is planned and conducted. Sometimes you will work independently, and other times in a team. There is always good support from colleagues and management. In this role, you will also be responsible for development issues and digitalization within the environmental group. We have significant projects underway related to, among other things, e-services. We anticipate that this will constitute about 25-30% of the position. **QUALIFICATIONS** You have a scientific higher education degree, preferably with training as an environmental and health protection inspector or another qualification deemed equivalent. You possess good knowledge of individual sewage systems and their assessment. Previous experience working in the aforementioned supervision areas is an advantage. We are looking for someone who is professional and very service-oriented in your interactions with citizens, businesses, and other community stakeholders. You can communicate decision-making bases, make decisions, and convey those decisions in a trustworthy manner. You enjoy collaborating and are flexible. As we in Knivsta Municipality work with a strong service mindset, it is important that you possess these qualities. Simply being able to communicate clearly with external parties in a pedagogical manner is essential. **Requirements to be considered for the position:** - Education: Scientific higher education degree as an environmental and health protection inspector with courses related to individual sewage systems or another qualification deemed equivalent. - Language: Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. - Driver's License: Class B driver's license. - IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar. - Experience working as an environmental inspector. - Experience in fieldwork with individual sewage systems. - Experience in regulatory authority functions. - Knowledge of environmental law and administrative law. - Good digital skills and preferably experience working with digitalization.
