The Environmental Administration currently employs over 100 people and is located in the new city hall near the central station. The Environmental Administration is a municipal authority that supports the Environmental and Health Protection Committee and works to create good and healthy living environments for all residents of the municipality.

Job Description
You will work with supervision of environmentally hazardous activities across various industries. Your responsibilities will include conducting planned inspections and handling incoming cases. As an inspector, you will work independently while closely collaborating with competent and engaged colleagues. The role is varied in nature and complexity, offering a mix of fieldwork and office work. The inspector role also involves maintaining good contact with the municipality's residents, business owners, and other authorities.
Qualifications
The three positions will have different focuses. We are looking for individuals who can supervise contaminated areas, waste and waste management, as well as agriculture and vehicle maintenance.
For all positions, you need to have an academic degree with a technical or natural science focus or other education deemed relevant by the employer, preferably with a focus on environmental and health protection inspection. The work requires a good understanding of the Environmental Code. You also need to have strong proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as well as basic IT skills. A valid driver's license (B) is required as travel is part of the job.
For all positions, it is advantageous if you have education in any of the following areas: environmental and health protection, chemistry, ecotoxicology, hydrogeology, and soil science. Additionally, experience dealing with PFAS issues is a plus. It is also beneficial if you have experience in and enjoy quality work, inspection planning, and follow-up.
For the position focused on contaminated land and waste, you need to have experience in supervision as an inspector.
For the positions focused on agriculture and vehicle maintenance, experience in supervision as an inspector is advantageous.
To succeed in the role of inspector, it is important that you are good at collaborating and can structure, plan, and prioritize your work effectively. As a person, you are analytical and capable of seeing connections and solving complex questions and problems. We also expect you to take responsibility and drive inspection projects forward to achieve results. You enjoy meeting people and have the ability to listen to those you encounter and their needs. You can adapt your communication to the situation and the audience, ensuring that all our residents and businesses have the opportunity to understand and comply. It is important for you to respond to questions in a way that everyone understands, and you are well-informed about the conditions of the business community and the challenges faced by entrepreneurs.
