The Environmental Unit works with issues across a large portion of the Environmental Code. We conduct supervision and review of everything from large industrial facilities to smaller water-related matters. Many environmental issues are within expansive industries including mines, smelting plants, and wind power. Work Tasks
The County Administrative Board of Västerbotten, together with five other county administrative boards, has been designated as contact points according to EU regulations Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA) and Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA), and we are now seeking someone who wants to be the hub of this work with us in Västerbotten. Your role will be to coordinate our work as a contact point with a focus on CRMA, which involves extensive contact with companies, consultants, and authorities. Our responsibility area covers Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland. The contact point will function as the designated entry point for companies to authorities, with the goal of supporting operators throughout the permit process, including aspects beyond environmental review, such as building permits.
In addition to coordinating contact point work, you will be involved in the work group's other tasks. This includes participating in reviews within the environmental review delegation, ranging from consultation participation to writing decisions.
We are seeking someone with experience in environmental review from authorities, companies, or as a consultant. You have project management experience and are accustomed to coordinating multiple instances. You are communicative and enjoy creating and developing networks.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who has:
- Relevant education and several years of professional experience in permit or supervision activities related to environmentally hazardous operations from private or public sectors
- Project management experience
- B driver's license, as travel is required for the position
We consider it meritorious if you also have:
- Experience from mining and extraction industries, either at an authority or with a company/consultant
To succeed in the assignment, it is important that you are highly communicative, social, and appreciate contact and communication with others. You have a good ability to effectively and accurately express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You also master English as European contacts are common. You are a structured problem-solver driven to find solutions. It is also important that you are self-driven and have your own initiative.

Terms
The position is a permanent employment, and a probationary period may be applied. Commencement as soon as possible or by agreement.
