Environmental Worker / Sanitation Driver

Within the waste management department of Hudiksvall Municipality, approximately 50 experienced employees are currently engaged in operations, maintenance, and development. We operate in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, focusing on the environment and circular economy. We have recently begun implementing our new collection system, Närsorterat, and are combining it with a contractor collecting household waste from residents who still have the old system in place. Soon, we will be handling all collection and management ourselves with our own vehicles. There is a lot happening within the department right now, and we are facing constant change. **Job Responsibilities** You will work alongside other employees to collect residual waste, food waste, and packaging using our new vehicles, including side-loading and rear-loading waste trucks with multiple compartments. Sometimes there will be two employees on a route, while at other times you will be driving alone. We will have a new modern fleet of vehicles equipped with computers/tablets where you will report deviations and sorting errors. To reduce the amount of waste and maintain high quality in collected materials, a change in behavior within the community is necessary. Therefore, addressing deviations with customers and communicating with customer service is an important part of your work. You will be responsible for the vehicle you operate for the day and will manage it according to our routines. Other tasks may also arise within the department, such as ramp work, machine operation, or other duties that may occur at a recycling center. The work may involve varied working hours, but typically it is Monday to Friday, regardless of public holidays. **Your Profile** We are looking for someone who is: - Diligent, loyal, and meticulous - Goal-oriented and strives to achieve our environmental objectives - Persistent and aims for good results - Experienced in operating heavy vehicles and managing your vehicle fleet - Attentive and able to follow established routines easily - Service-oriented and willing to do everything to ensure customer satisfaction - Solution-oriented and knows how to handle various situations that arise - A good team player who helps out when needed - Punctual A requirement is that you hold at least a C driver's license and a valid YKB (professional competence certificate).
