We are seeking someone with a completed master's degree in statistics, mathematical statistics, or biostatistics, and at least two years of independent programming experience in R. What will you be doing?
As a statistician, you will:
• Conduct statistical analyses and interpret results.
• Work across the agency as statistical methodological support, including selecting appropriate methods for different subject areas, developing new methods, and mentoring colleagues.
• Contribute methodological expertise in developing analysis plans, methods, and supporting colleagues in choosing and applying statistical methods.
• Write and review reports to ensure quality and relevance.
• Participate in unit administration and meetings.
As a statistician, you may also have other tasks as an investigator at the agency.
Who are we looking for?
Requirements for the position:
• Completed master's degree in statistics, mathematical statistics, or biostatistics.
• At least two years of independent programming experience in R, after completing studies.
Beyond that, we see the following competencies, abilities, and experiences as important for you to thrive with us:
Great importance is placed on:
• At least 2 years of practical experience in statistical analysis work within biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or medical research, after completing studies.
• Excellent knowledge of various statistical methods in epidemiology and/or public health.
• Personal qualities including good collaboration skills, responsibility, and analytical thinking. You have a holistic perspective and a good approach.
High importance is placed on:
• Multiple years of experience in supervision or statistical methodological support within biostatistics or related areas.
• Doctoral degree in statistics, mathematical statistics, or biostatistics or another relevant field for the position.
Importance is placed on:
• Experience in statistical work in interdisciplinary contexts.
• Experience with SAS programming.
About the Unit:
The unit is an analysis unit working closely with data analysis and forecasts for more effective public health work. The head of the Analysis Unit is also the agency's chief analyst.

About the Position:
You will be employed as an investigator located at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a full-time temporary appointment until 2027-01-31. Start date is as soon as possible according to agreement.
As an employee at the Public Health Agency, you may be placed in a wartime position. Some positions are classified in security classes where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. A security review will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
At the agency, there may be an opportunity to agree on remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
