About this role
Ready to Find Your Thing? Test New, Exchange Experiences, and Discover What You Really Like to Do.
Your Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer with us, you will work on developing and verifying the pyrotechnic ignition chain. This is a highly critical system for safe, reliable, and precise functionality, as it both secures and initiates the main charge in our products.
You will help develop Saab's capabilities in ignition system design in Linköping. An entirely new team is being created to build competence in ignition systems for underwater products such as sea mines, torpedoes, and depth charges.
You will be involved in developing, verifying, and following new products from idea to finished product. We also work on managing existing products, and part of the work involves helping production with troubleshooting and management, as well as supporting customers with maintenance and updates.
In the office environment, work is done using CAD tools like 3DExperience. System work in the form of documentation, requirement writing, and requirement fulfillment is also an important task. We also work very practically in laboratory environments with testing and trials. The work primarily occurs in teams where each team member is a crucial cog, given great freedom to take responsibility and drive their part of the task. Of course, team members, colleagues, and others are always available for support. Our workplace is characterized by lack of prestige and good collaboration where we solve our tasks together.
Training and support occur through close collaboration with our sister section in Karlskoga.
Your Profile
We believe you have a genuine interest in technology and enjoy practical applications like prototype building or testing. We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking and outgoing, with easy communication and collaboration skills. We expect you to be a Master's or Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Physics, or similar, or have education/experience deemed relevant. Knowledge of CAD tools and experience in design and/or systems engineering is meritorious. You express yourself well verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and English.
The position requires that you undergo and pass current security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may involve citizenship requirements.
