Mechanic - DRI Plant Location: Boden At Stegra, we believe that the industry of the future must be sustainable – and we are building it from the ground up. We are now seeking a mechanic who wants to play a practical role in this journey. You will work on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and contribute to a safe and efficient production flow. About the Role As a mechanic in our DRI plant team, you will become part of the mechanical maintenance unit and report to the Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of critical equipment in the DRI plant. Together with operators, technicians, and engineers, you will work to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operating conditions in one of Sweden's most ambitious sustainable steel production initiatives. Responsibilities • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. • Collaborate with operators, technicians, and other colleagues to identify and implement technical improvements. • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and simpler electrical components to minimize downtime. • Inspect equipment for wear, vibrations, and lubrication, and take preventive actions. • Contribute to optimization of maintenance programs and improvement work at the plant. • Support and guide colleagues in specific maintenance procedures. • Maintain a safe and well-organized work environment, including applying Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and cleaning routines. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent education, preferably with a focus on industry, technology, or mechanics. • Practical experience as a mechanic, preferably in heavy industry or similar environment. • Good knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. • Basic understanding of workplace health and safety procedures. • Knowledge of Swedish and European safety regulations is meritorious. • Willing to work shifts as needed. • Good English skills; Swedish is meritorious.
