About this role

Make a difference. Every day. We now welcome you who want to be part of driving medical issues within close care and health. Within Emergency Care and Close Care East, the evening and weekend clinics in Ystad, Hässleholm, and Kristianstad, as well as the emergency department in Hässleholm, are included. As presence is required at all locations, travel is part of the position. The Close Care and Health administration started on January 1, 2025, with the goal of delivering care close to the patient. Our area focuses on emergency care to assist patients with care that cannot wait. This may be due to the patient needing a higher level of care in the form of an emergency department, or the patient becoming ill at a time when primary care is not open. We work to provide equitable care for our citizens in Skåne, with our responsibility on the eastern side. Collaboration with other areas is therefore of great importance. You can choose to have your base location in Ystad, Hässleholm, or Kristianstad, and the position also allows for the option to work 50 percent clinically elsewhere if desired. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In the role of Medical Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that evidence-based knowledge becomes part of the needs analysis, mission, and follow-up of the operations in the area. You will work closely with the operations manager and assist in managing the medical knowledge bank in the management group. You will collaborate closely with other medical advisors in the area to drive and implement improvements in our units. The position targets those with broad medical competence, particularly with an interest in emergency care and primary care. Your responsibilities include, among others: Medical Responsibility • Ensure that the care provided is of good quality and follows science and established best practices. • Hold overall medical responsibility for the content of operations. • Monitor and analyze care outcomes and initiate improvement work. Quality and Patient Safety • Ensure that there are routines for safe care and that they are followed. • Assess risks, manage deviations, and participate in event analyses. • Work to ensure that operations meet the requirements from supervisory authorities (e.g., IVO, the National Board of Health and Welfare). Guidelines and Medical Processes • Develop and establish medical guidelines and treatment routines. • Ensure that the operations have adequate competence and resources for the commitment. For example, conducting introductions for new doctors and follow-ups after completed secondary service for ST doctors. Engage in dialogue with study directors and supervisors as needed. • Ongoing collaboration with STRAMA. Coordination and Leadership • Act as support to the operations manager in medical matters. • Participate in management groups and regional MLA meetings. • Be a contact person in medical issues with healthcare providers, authorities, and external partners. Competence and Education • Ensure that staff have the right competence and receive further education. • Participate in supervising ST/BT/AT doctors and other healthcare personnel. Regulations and Supervision • Be knowledgeable about and follow laws, regulations, and governing documents. • Ensure that record-keeping and documentation meet requirements through ongoing journal reviews. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in general medicine and eligibility to practice within the Swedish healthcare system. Moreover, you should have experience in your specialty. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference, and good language skills in English both spoken and written are required for this position. Experience in working with emergency care issues is highly meritorious. Furthermore, experience in leadership roles and development work, as well as research experience and improvement work experience, is also advantageous. In your professional role, you are accustomed to working independently, with a strong ability to structure approaches and drive processes alone, while also valuing good collaboration both within and outside your workgroup. You are responsive and share your knowledge and previous experiences. To succeed in the role, we also see that you have good communication skills and can explain medical facts in a comprehensible and clear manner in various forums. Your drive, commitment, and positive attitude contribute to a good working atmosphere, where we all help and collaborate to achieve the best possible conditions for care. Additionally, you have the ability to analyze complex relationships while seeing the big picture and prioritizing.
