Make a difference. Every day. The obstetrics and gynecology (OG) department in Helsingborg and Ängelholm has approximately 300 employees. The administrative unit is a distinct unit within the department where the employees are organizationally grouped under a unit manager. The unit employs around 30 dedicated medical secretaries, administrators, operation coordinators, SVF coordinators, IT administrators, an administrator with executive support duties, and a unit manager. Within the OG department, there are administrative staff in the Specialist Maternity Care Clinic, Delivery Unit, Postpartum Unit, as well as in the gynecological clinic, emergency department, and inpatient unit. Our operation in Helsingborg is located both in the main hospital building on level 02 and in the White House on level 01. We also include the gynecological clinic in Ängelholm. JOB DESCRIPTION We are currently seeking a medical secretary to join our team at the gynecological clinic in Helsingborg! Here, we offer you an interesting position with a variety of tasks related to women's health. You will collaborate closely with both healthcare staff and physicians, as well as with positive and experienced secretarial colleagues. The role requires the ability to work independently, while also functioning effectively within a team. Collaboration and communication are paramount to us. Specific administrative tasks may be assigned based on interest and aptitude. Whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced medical secretary/healthcare administrator, we ensure that you can transition into your role smoothly. As a medical secretary, you will work with: • medical documentation • diagnosis registration/coding • monitoring and scheduling • managing waiting lists • handling referrals. We hold regular joint secretarial meetings for the entire administrative team. You may also participate in interdisciplinary meetings, workplace meetings (APT), and development projects. You will be working daytime hours, Monday to Friday. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome applicants who have completed an approved education in health and healthcare administration (80 credits KY or 400 credits YH) or equivalent recognized training as a medical secretary. You must also have strong language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. Previous experience in outpatient work is advantageous, as is knowledge of Melior, PASiS, and/or Medspeech. We value good teamwork and a positive work environment where a sense of responsibility and joy at work characterizes our administrative unit. You should have a strong sense of customer service and an ability to see the bigger picture, along with being responsible and detail-oriented. The role of a medical secretary also requires flexibility and a good ability to prioritize and organize your work, as well as strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
