Geriatric Care Unit (VE) at Skåne University Hospital is part of the Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Memory Disorders, and Geriatrics (NRMG) area. We provide care, research, and education for elderly health. The Geriatric Care Unit encompasses an acute geriatric ward located in Malmö, as well as consultation services focused on wound treatment. The unit also conducts geriatric research and development activities. Our largest research unit is GÅS (Good Aging in Skåne), a major national study supported by the Social Department, where randomly selected research participants aged 60 and above are followed over an extended period. GÅS has a team in Malmö and a Mobile Team covering Hässleholm, Ystad, and Eslöv. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking a new medical secretary and key team member for our mobile research team. The team also includes a nurse, nursing assistant, test leader, and physician. Additionally, the unit has a large number of researchers affiliated with it. As a medical secretary, you will have a driving role as the hub of operations, with tasks significantly different from a traditional secretarial position. You will work minimally with the Melior and PASIS systems, as most work consists of other administrative tasks. A crucial part involves contacting research participants by phone to motivate their participation and attendance at the clinic. Additionally, you will help participants complete questionnaires and review and supplement this data. In the mobile team, work alternates between Hässleholm, Ystad, and Eslöv. The duration at each location varies between six months and two years. To facilitate commuting, it is advantageous to live in an area with good train connections. The employer covers travel expenses and part of travel time, but you should be prepared for potentially long travel periods. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome candidates with approved education in Healthcare Administration (80 p KY or 400 p YH) or medical secretary training. Previous experience in administrative work, preferably in research, is also meritorious. As the role involves extensive contact with research participants, it is important that you are comfortable communicating with participants both in-person and by phone. An empathetic approach is central to making participants feel welcome and eager to return. As a person, you are positive, initiative-taking, and meticulous in your work. We seek someone flexible with a good ability to prioritize different tasks. You should also be able to adapt your working method when circumstances require.
