The Medicine Clinic at Varberg Hospital is investing in the future and is now seeking you as a Medical Foot Therapist/Nursing Assistant.
Job Responsibilities
As a Medical Foot Therapist with us at the Diabetes and Hormonal Disorders Clinic, you will plan, perform, and be responsible for patient foot care following physician referrals. You will be one of two foot therapists in the unit, receiving patients on referral for medical foot care with risk category 4 as well as some category 3. You will engage with your patients professionally, educating and informing them about self-care. You will assess each patient’s foot status and treat various foot conditions. You will collaborate with different professional categories, develop the operations, and be part of a multidisciplinary wound care team that collaborates with other clinics, such as Orthopedics, Surgery, and Infectious Diseases, as well as Active Orthopedic Technology. Additionally, you will manage appointment bookings and provide telephone consultations.
The primary responsibility of primary healthcare is prevention aimed at preventing the occurrence of foot ulcers in diabetic patients. Our specialized clinic represents the next level in the care chain. We have diabetes patients with previous amputations, reduced arterial circulation, decreased sensitivity due to foot deformities, as well as patients with spinal injuries or neurological diseases with decreased sensitivity and risk of ulcers.
The position involves approximately 50% work as a Medical Foot Therapist.
About the Workplace
The Medicine Clinic is divided into several teams, such as the Anticoagulation Clinic, Allergy Clinic, Diabetes/Endocrinology Clinic, and Gastroenterology Clinic. We are a specialist clinic where we receive referrals from primary care, primarily from northern Halland but also from other hospitals in the Halland Region and SU in Västra Götaland.
We conduct investigations and perform certain examinations. We work in teams where doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, medical foot therapists, and medical secretaries collaborate. The clinic focuses on quality improvement and puts the patient at the center of our work. Our ambition is to offer patients high-quality care with the best possible service and treatment.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a Medical Foot Therapist and Nursing Assistant, preferably with several years of experience. You have a recognized degree from a vocational college.
You possess good computer skills, and experience with a digital medical record system is an advantage. You must be able to work independently, drive, and plan the foot care operations. You collaborate easily and have a pronounced service mindset.
As a person, you are positive towards development and change efforts, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. We expect you to have strong commitment to your work, follow up on results, and be able to work independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
