Technical Division consists of five operational areas: Street/Park/Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Municipal Properties, and Meal Services. These are supported by a project unit, finance unit, and an administrative staff. The division has an annual turnover of over 1 billion Swedish kronor and approximately 400 employees. Our clients are the Municipal Board, Environmental and Social Building Committee, and Culture and Leisure Committee. Street, Park, Harbor is responsible for operation and maintenance of streets, parks, and Nyköping harbor. The operation shall ensure that Nyköping has a functional and safe street and road system that meets travelers' needs for traffic safety, security, and accessibility. Welcome to a workplace with great variety! JOB DUTIES The Street/Park/Harbor unit is now seeking a street/harbor worker for the operations unit. The position involves close collaboration with other employees in the street/harbor operations department, as well as other officials and employees within the Street/Park/Harbor operation and other operations within the Technical Division. Job tasks include machine operation, construction work, and maintenance of road facilities such as road signs, guardrails, curbs, closures, and ditch edges. Simple vehicle and machine repairs are also included. Tasks include sand removal, snow clearing, and anti-skid treatment. The position involves on-call service during snow removal season, and during major disruptions, work may include signs, manhole covers, potholes, and fallen trees. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking candidates who have: - Completed high school education - CE driver's license - Experience with construction work and road facility maintenance - Familiarity with roadwork - Wheel loader operator certification - Good machine handling skills - Welding experience - Experience with repair and maintenance work - Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing Advantageous additional qualifications: - Valid YKB - Road Work Training As a person, we seek someone with a positive attitude who enjoys active and dynamic work.
