Job Responsibilities
Tasks include accompanying support according to LSS and social services interventions.
As an LSS companion, you will work approximately 60 hours per month. A key task is to break individuals' isolation through community, leisure activity support, and providing advice and guidance in everyday situations. Companionship is primarily intended to help individuals overcome physical environmental barriers and participate in daily activities in their local environment.
You will provide monthly support for activities outside the home, covering both continuous and occasional needs. The schedule will be mutually established between the companion and the individual, with varying times based on their needs and planned activities.
In addition to companionship, there is also an opportunity to provide home care services, approximately 21 hours per month.
Your Profile
We are seeking a secure, attentive, and responsive companion who can be the individual's eyes and ears in daily life. The person lives in Dalarna and has an active lifestyle where nature, walks, and animals are important aspects.
Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years or older
• Competence in deafblindness
• Deafblind interpretation training is meritorious
• Completed or willing to participate in web training: Offering Support for Acquired Deafblindness
• Strong skills in tactile sign language
• Some horse experience is beneficial
• Calm, attentive, communicative, with good judgment
• Ability to collaborate while working independently
Workplace Responsibilities:
• Safely guide the individual in various environments
• Audio describe surroundings (both visual and auditory elements)
• Facilitate light conversations in everyday situations
• Accompany on walks, nature excursions, and hikes
• Visit the individual's horse several times a month
• Occasionally accompany on trips from Dalarna
