About the Assignment
Västlänken is the Swedish Transport Administration's major infrastructure initiative in Gothenburg, which involves the construction of approximately eight kilometers of double-track railway, over six kilometers of which will be underground in the city center. The new railway will feature three underground stations at Centralen, Haga, and Korsvägen, connecting the railway lines north and south of Gothenburg. The aim is to increase capacity, reduce congestion, and improve punctuality for commuter and regional trains throughout West Sweden. The Västlänken division also includes the associated projects Olskroken, Lärje, Pilekrogen, and Sävenäs, which contribute to improved traffic flow and efficiency in the railway system.
About the Role
The role of Measurement Engineer involves responsibility for measurement and volume regulation, as well as creating conditions for efficient and safe construction. You will lead and coordinate efforts related to project plan monitoring with a focus on time, cost, and content. Work is conducted in accordance with the Swedish Transport Administration's protocols and in close collaboration with project and production management.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Ensuring that the contract work is carried out according to the applicable contractual documents
• Analyzing and monitoring measurement issues concerning quantities and site tolerances
• Participating in control measurements and mass calculations
• Reviewing measurement data, setting out, documents, and reports in accordance with measurement regulations
• Reviewing main network reports
• Conducting spot checks to verify measurement data and reports
• Performing continuous quality control according to the control plan
• Reviewing the contractor's documentation for as-built records and participating in the establishment of maintenance documents
Mandatory Requirements
• Good knowledge of construction law such as AB, ABT, ABK and industry standards such as AMA and MER.
• University degree in geodetic measurement technology or equivalent competence acquired through experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in roles as a measurement engineer on railway projects where railway works, such as track work, have been involved in geodetic measurement and regulation of contract work. Experience must not be older than 8 years.
• The consultant must be able to express themselves well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
• Hold a certification for measurement technical work with the Swedish Transport Administration, level 1.
Assignment Information
The assignment is scheduled to begin by January 7, 2026, and will continue until January 6, 2027.
Option: The client has a unilateral option to extend the contract under existing contractual terms for an additional 1+1+1+1 years.
The designated location for the assignment is Gothenburg. This role requires physical presence at the Swedish Transport Administration's office every workday.
Scope: The estimated workload for the assignment is 80-100 percent. The annual working time is defined as 1,700 hours.
