Technical Service is part of the Strategic Operations that manages the municipality's facilities and machinery within streets, parks, nature, marine, recreation, and lot maintenance.
Job Description
We are currently seeking an employee who has strong communication skills and enjoys problem-solving. You should have a technical inclination with prior workshop experience. You will work with the entire fleet of machinery, which includes both custom-built equipment, special machines, and standard machines. As a technician, you will service, repair, adjust, and maintain machinery and equipment such as heavy vehicles (trucks, street sweepers), winter equipment, tractors, large ride-on lawn mowers, and other machinery in our fleet.
We will be expanding our workshop to include more work with passenger/transport vehicles, which means we will take over service and maintenance for a portion of the municipality's vehicle fleet.
Although some tasks are recurring, the work will be varied.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who can work independently but also has good teamwork skills. Your work is characterized by precision, a good sense of order, and a service-oriented mindset. You are accustomed to working with computers.
Requirements for the position are:
• Education as a car mechanic or truck mechanic, or equivalent competence deemed comparable by the employer.
• Experience working as a machine technician or car mechanic or truck mechanic.
• A valid B driver's license for manual transmission.
Meritorious for the position are:
• Knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, control electronics, or welding.
• C/CE driver's license, forklift certification, overhead crane training, or hot work certification.
• Knowledge in vehicle repair.
Other
Probationary employment for 6 months. Start date according to agreement.
Individual salary setting applies.
Some on-call duty may occur.
