Ground Environmental Specialist

We are seeking a specialist in ground environment who wants to drive these issues within the Exploitation Administration's area of operation. Together, we work to achieve the city's high environmental and climate goals in the development of Gothenburg. Work Tasks As a specialist, you will contribute ground environment expertise to the entire administration. You will work broadly with issues related to ground environment from technical, legal, and economic perspectives. You will be part of a group of environmental specialists with different specialist areas who help support projects in various matters. The role involves both providing support and advice as well as driving and monitoring ground environment issues in projects. You will collaborate with other technical administrations in the city, such as the City Planning Administration, Urban Environment Administration, and Circular & Water. It may also be relevant to participate in or drive development projects related to ground environment. In the specialist role, you will assess ground status and develop investigations. The work includes reviewing consultants' investigations, risk assessments, and proposed actions, as well as preparing these documents yourself. You will create and review economic calculations and assess economic consequences from a ground environment perspective. Furthermore, you will support projects in procuring consultant investigations, ground environment actions and contracts, contribute to request documentation, and evaluate offers. You may also serve as support when establishing implementation agreements and costs to be regulated after construction and according to contract. The position is located in the Land and Environment unit at the Exploitation Administration. You will be part of a unit with approximately 20 colleagues with high competence in various areas related to land and environmental issues, and you will have around 360 colleagues within the administration who together work to develop and build Gothenburg City. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a relevant academic degree equivalent to master's level, such as a civil engineer or natural scientist in environmental technology, geoscience, or similar areas, with substantial experience in ground environment issues and good knowledge of relevant legislation, remediation measures, mass management, and cost and liability regulation. You also have competence or experience in order and procurement work and can deliver effective results both independently and in collaboration with others. You have good computer skills, work comfortably in Microsoft 365, and have experience with GIS tools. A driver's license (B) is required for the role. It is meritorious to have experience from municipal operations and urban development, as well as experience in project planning and construction phases. In the role, you work independently and systematically. You are analytical, and with your knowledge and experience in ground environment issues, you can propose solutions and provide advice. The position involves internal collaboration and many contacts with consultants, contractors, and other administrations and authorities. Therefore, it is important to be collaborative and have good communication and pedagogical skills. We place great importance on personal qualities.
