About the Department
The Boat Maintenance Department is growing to enhance the Navy's capability for maintenance and technical support. The department is part of the Marine Workshops and is being developed as a flexible team where everyone is involved in the entire maintenance commitment.
Main Responsibilities
As a mechanic, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the Navy's boats and equipment. The tasks are highly varied and will be carried out both in the workshop and onboard vessels. You will work independently or as part of a team.
Requirements
Qualifications
• 2- or 3-year high school diploma with a technical/electrical focus or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way deemed comparable by the employer
• Several years of documented experience in operations, maintenance, or technology
• Good computer skills
• Proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Manual B driver's license

The overarching task of the Naval Base is to support the naval units with logistics including transportation, basing, surveillance, and medical care, both domestically and abroad. The Naval Base is headquartered in Karlskrona but operates where needed, such as in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Naval Base include monitoring Sweden's 2,700 km long coastline with territorial waters.
