Measurement Specialist

We are seeking a senior qualified measurement specialist in groundwater measurement for the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). This is a multi-year consulting assignment based in Varberg. The position is part-time at 20%. The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which requires a high level of flexibility and teamwork. **The Assignment** The role of the senior qualified measurement specialist involves conducting measurements, controls, and data collection according to the applicable control program for the Varberg tunnel and its construction components. The assignment includes both technical fieldwork and administrative management of measurement data, including reporting to Trafikverket, supervisory authorities, and environmental databases. The work aims to ensure compliance with conditions in water activity permits, timely detection of environmental impacts, and the ability to take action in case of deviations. The role also includes liaising with authorities, managing deviations, and preparing annual reports. **Responsibilities** - Establish work preparation and risk analysis for personal tasks and conduct monthly data management of flow data from a total of 6 measurement stations. - Retrieve flow data from 4 measurement stations via Trafikverket's system GELD and perform logger emptying at 2 measurement stations (Österleden and Vareborg). - Conduct manual monthly groundwater level measurements at 58 measurement points and deliver all collected data to Trafikverket's database EQUIS. - Communicate with the client regarding events that affect the controls, such as damaged measurement points or exceedances of alarm thresholds. - Contact the County Administrative Board in case of risks to human health or the environment according to Section 6 of Regulation (1998:901) and document all deviations. - Prepare and compile the annual report for the supervisory authority. **Potential Additional Responsibilities:** - Propose revisions or expansions of the control program and conduct supplementary controls (surface water levels, flows in watercourses, analysis/sampling of groundwater or surface water). - Perform verification measurements of automatic flow measurement in rock tunnels, including administrative management of access. - Manage the establishment and dismantling of measurement points and report control results to property owners upon request. - Investigate damages following incoming reports and assist in contacts with property owners, stakeholders, and authorities. - Prepare documentation for supplementary reporting, conduct specific investigations, and develop decision-making materials. **Requirements (Mandatory)** - Act as a qualified expert in the relevant field. - Good knowledge of the effects and consequences of groundwater lowering. - Strong understanding of current environmental legislation, the Environmental Code, and related laws and regulations. - At least three (3) years of higher education or equivalent relevant to the assignment. - Proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. - A minimum of seven (7) years in the relevant subject area. - Extensive practical experience with similar tasks. - Participated in or executed several comparable assignments with positive evaluations. - Takes significant responsibility within the relevant area. - Can work independently in the relevant field. **About Us** Centio's overarching goal is to be a consulting company that offers smart and sustainable solutions that positively develop society.
