Job Responsibilities
As a meal assistant with us, your duties will include some preparation and serving of delicious and nutritious meals, which also encompasses special diets.
You will be responsible for ordering supplies and conducting the unit's self-monitoring. You will work independently but collaborate with other staff to provide excellent service. In the kitchen environment, heavy lifting may occur. You should focus on sustainability and work with environmentally friendly meals. For us in Gothenburg City, environmentally friendly meals mean more vegetarian options on the plate, reduced food waste, purchasing organic and environmentally adapted food products, and adjusting menus according to the season.
You will have daily contact with our guests, internal orderers, and external suppliers regarding orders. We work with various IT systems for ordering and meal planning, and we provide training in these systems.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with at least a high school education. It is a requirement that you have training in kitchen and cleaning services and good knowledge of special diets. To manage orders, you need to have sufficient IT skills. It is an advantage if you have documented experience working in a large kitchen and knowledge of self-monitoring and food hygiene.
Since you will be interacting with customers daily and managing orders, you need to have good proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, for the tasks at hand.
As a person, you are positive, service-oriented, and have a good customer approach. It is natural for you to be a representative of the organization and to prioritize the customer. You are flexible and can act independently based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. Additionally, you find it easy to collaborate with others and build good relationships with both colleagues and customers.
